Hi – I just wanted to take a moment to commend you for the comment you left today (3/4/11) at the Washington Post blog post about “The Diane Ravitch Myth.” I absolutely agree with you that you can’t preach that loudly without offering a plan.
As someone who’s interested in potentially teaching in a high-poverty school district, I was also heartened to read that in your teaching experience, you didn’t allow yourself to be taken over by the idea that the poverty/poor health/stacked odds of your students made your efforts futile.
Glad to have found your blog. Good luck in your future endeavors!
